Who We Are

'Ahahui Kiwila Hawai'i o San Diego (AKHSD)is a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization chartered in 1993 by the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs and also a member of the Mainland Council of AHCC servicing the Native Hawaiians and the community in San Diego

What We Do

AKHSD has sponsored a number of cultural workshops open to its members and anyone with the desire to learn. These workshops include and are not limited to the following:

Lei Hulu Feather work

Lauhala Weaving

Haku Lei Making

Ipu Gourds

Hawaiian Quilting

Cultural and historical videos

Hawaiian Historical sites information

Learning and sharing with other communities through cultural exchanges


Activities

Holding annual fundraisers to raise funds for educational and cultural scholarships

Participating in San Diego's Pacific Islander Festival and Ho'olaule'a, Lawdale, CA

Connecting with the Kumeyaay (original) people of the land we live on
